It is much more pleasant to roll at an average pace, enjoying the V8 traction, quietly gurgling at 1.5 thousand rpm – but ready to get out in an instant to 5-6 thousand at the next overtaking immediately. The automatic perfectly knows the nature of the gasoline engine: with a smooth ride – it gently and imperceptibly switches up, with dynamic acceleration – it can reset a couple of gears down and allows the engine to gain maximum speed. Frankly, some modern asphalt crossovers with air suspension are able to ride softly, are devoid of such remarks with twitches / vibrations from the rear suspension, plus they give better handling on a flat road. I am sure that at such moments more than one Lexus LX was sold: without even starting a test drive at the dealer, customers were bribed by the look of the hood and the sound of the V8 under it! Sooner or later, multi-liter engines will go away, we will miss such emotions. Well, the Lexus LX is a worthy option to “keep it on time”. Indeed, in addition to a powerful V8 and generally good suspension comfort, the car can offer another advantage – a cool interior.
First, the interior looks modern. Secondly, everything is done very high quality. Thirdly, the inside is quite spacious. The last update comes to mind again, which gave the car an interior design in the style of current Lexus models: a bold horizontal stroke of wood, a huge 12.3-inch display, a modern steering wheel with numerous buttons, a massive center console filled with black gloss. And each of these elements is imbued with a sense of quality: everything fits perfectly, the details are a pleasure to touch, and small silver accents are placed with a sense of taste, but without overdoing it. In a word, there is a feeling of an expensive thing in the interior.

Although the Lexus LX SUV knows how to compensate for these comments: a separate “climate” for the right / left rear passenger, heated and ventilated seats. In the presence of an electric drive for adjusting the sofa forward / backward and the ability to set the desired angle of inclination of the back (though already manually). Plus a couple of LCD screens with wireless headphones and an old-school remote control (no touchscreens!), and sun shades on the windows.
It is a pity that so much attention was not paid to the trunk.Nominally – a huge volume and a flat flat floor. In reality, it is impossible to use the trunk normally when transporting ordinary bags, cases, packages. So, the tailgate is made double-leaf and when tilting the lower half, it is not easy to get to the edges of the luggage compartment. And all your bags will be right there after the first braking, since there is no organizer and niche shelves here. Moreover, the status (and price) of the car already obliges to install an electric curtain and a retractable tray that could simplify the loading / unloading process – but there is nothing like that here. So it turns out that the trunk is huge, but it is useful only for transporting large things.
The back is generally comfortable and spacious enough, although there is a nuance with a high floor level, which dictates the specific position of the legs when landing. A pair of LCD displays with headphones are standard on the car, as is a separate “climate” or heated/ventilated sofa. The trunk is large, but not well thought out.
Is there any innovation in the Lexus LX 570 Sport?
Rather, there is a “classic of the genre” here: a frame base, an independent suspension in the front, a solid rear axle beam, and a 3UR-FE atmospheric gasoline engine under the hood. Four-wheel drive is built on the basis of the Torsen differential with an asymmetrical torque division: 40% to the front wheels and 60% to the rear. During the last update, the car acquired not only a new appearance and interior, but also important technical changes: in addition to the 8-st. “automatic”, increased brakes were added (disc diameter 354 mm). And the Sport version also features a body vibration damper – the influence of which, to be honest, is imperceptible.
Although the chassis of the Lexus LX has its own zest: hydropneumatic suspension. It allows you to adjust both the stiffness of the shock absorbers (AVS system) and the height of the body position (X-AHC system). So, the front part of the body can be raised by 50 mm or lowered by 60 mm, the rear part can be raised by 60 mm or lowered by 40 mm. In addition, at high speed, the body itself lowers by 15-20 mm (to reduce aerodynamic drag, reduce fuel consumption, improve stability), and there is also a “landing” mode with the body lowered as much as possible. In a word, they squeezed everything they could out of this system: I respect this approach – when it is done not for show, but for maximum functionality.
The basis is a “classic of the genre”: a solid frame, an atmospheric engine V8, traditional automatic, permanent four-wheel drive with a step-down range. System Crawl control was before (only the control selector has changed), as well as the hydropneumatic suspension. With a standard clearance of 225 mm, the height of the body position can be adjusted within approximately 100 mm (total up / down). And if you add the ability to lock the central differential, the function of braking the rear wheel to reduce the turning radius, the system Multi—Terrain Select, a special off-road display mode … It must be admitted that Lexus LX excellent opportunities and technologies for heavy impassability. Another question – will he be there? I think the answer is obvious.

Further: the “Japanese” costs less, its engine is more powerful, and most importantly, the chassis corresponds to this power. At the same time, the car does not really lose in comfort. However, the Lexus LX breaks Infiniti's position with its interior, which literally hovers the feeling of high cost. As for the Europeans, their strength is the variety of versions / motors. Moreover, if the Range Rover “starts” at a price approximately from the level of the Lexus LX, then the basic versions of the Mercedes-Benz GLS turn out to be cheaper by UAH 1 million. – sufficient clearance to select both the desired motor and the desired list of options.
New Mercedes—Benz GLS – perhaps the most dangerous opponent for Lexus LX: well-known name, wide choice of versions, possibility of ordering different options.
